Lemon juice can help to reduce infections

Lemon is the fruit of the tree Citrus limon, containing citric acid. Lemon juice has multiple health benefits.

Its antibacterial properties help fight infection in the throat and get rid of chest congestion, its high levels of potassium can help provide relief from dizziness, nausea, and fever and its vitamin C content not only fights cancer but also help prevent infection by building up the body's defences and boosts immunity by increasing the body’s white blood cell count, antibodies and interferon, which coats cell surfaces to ward off virus and fight infection.

Lemons contain enough vitamin C to prevent or treat scurvy. It may seem acidic, but its nature is alkaline in the body, to fight acidic conditions and remove acid wastes – vital for arthritis.

Lemon is high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids to strengthen veins, blood vessels and capillaries: prevent thickening of arterial walls, bruising and varicose veins; and fight infections.
